In mid-2015, when my wife and I started thinking about a family, we were fairly confident we’d be pretty good at. Now don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t say I’m going to be a bad mom, but I am increasingly less confident that I’ll be an out-of-this-world-super-mom.
Thus far, we’ve travelled an interesting road – one paved with failed artificial insemination attempts, tears, hysterical situations with anonymous donors unknowingly shared with friends, hormone treatments and eventually a successful IVF attempt resulting in one perfect little boy on the way. Our road has, on some occasions, crossed paths with slightly darker roads – the loss of a beloved parent, work stresses, new jobs and lost jobs – but all the while we were comforted by the knowledge that our little guy was on his way to us.
This blog represents our journey – some aspects of which will resonate with you, others will be totally foreign – but hopefully, in time, it will come to represent some of your journeys too.
